The Music Obsessive

Happy New Year!

Despite having this concept for quite some time, I’m finally getting around to creating my personal music blog where I will discuss my findings, listening reports, and obsessions.

The reasoning behind the title of the site is to clearly express that not only is music my obsession, but rather it is an emotional rabbit hole I gladly spiral through. This can include listening to the same song, artist, or album on repeat.

I intend to have some analytical content especially since my musical interests cover eastern and southeastern Asian music. There is a language barrier, but I don’t allow that to prevent me from discovering new finds.

Topics I’ll cover are my listening reports from last.fm, which I have used since December 2005 (over 20 years of music listening data!), old and new discoveries, and other random tidbits about my ongoing musical fixations.
